Ronald's Story
Following high school I went on to Humber College and graduated from the Architectural Design Technician course in 1971. My first career job was inspecting stores and properties owned by Canadian Tire Corp. For a brief time I went into retailing with Canadian Tire and ended up managing the store in St. Thomas ON from mid-1974 to Feb. 1976. During that time I married Pat from Cambridge and had two sons born in 1979 and 1981. In March 1976 I started my own contracting business and relocated to Cambridge in 1981. I also, started doing real estate type home inspections in 1986. For many years, Patron Services was busy taking houses apart, fixing them and putting them back together, much like the reality shows that are now popular on TV.. I now continue investigating problem houses. I taught the Home Inspection course at Conestoga College (continu...Expand for more
ing education) for 15 years. In the spring of 2015, I merged my contracting activities into my oldest son's landscape business, some of my former staff are now part of his staff. Clients know me as Ron the House Doctor.; .ronthehousedoctor.com It never ceases to amaze me how poorly some houses are/were built, new and old, and maintained by homeowners.
Pat and I have been married 48+ years and our two sons are now 44 and 42. We have 5 grandchildren; 3 girls and 2 boys; both families live within walking distance.
You may remember me as one of the Bolender twins. Dave lives in Etobicoke with his wife Sue.
Pat and I are active in our church (Temple Baptist Church Cambridge) and volunteer in several ministries. Pat retired from palliative community nursing, Nov 2021 and I am semi-retired.
