Ronald's Story
Life
We graduated on a Friday and I left for the US Army on the following Monday. The Army was good to me. I spent 2 1/2 years at Frankfurt, Germany; returned to the U.S. and a year later went to Officers Training School; then off to Vietnam. I served a total of 6 years in the Army. While on R&R in Malaysia from Vietnam, I met my future wife. She is Chinese. Margaret and I have been married since 1968. We have one son who lives in San Francisco. o. and worked there for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Margaret's health has declined since then, so we can't travel much now. We have made 6 trips to Malaysia to visit family. I have one sister and one brother left out of the 7 of us. I work on my hobbies (stamp collecting, genealogy, and the last few years locating members of my Vietnam unit). I am the Editor of the Joplin Stamp Club newsletter. I have located 163 former members of my Army unit from Vietnam and in 2003, I organized and hosted our first reunion in Joplin.
