Ronald's Story

I would like to be remembered by my friends as a devoted Christ-like friend. I always wanted to be a engineer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. But God had bigger plans - now I am a Pastor. I am an avid Mountain bike and road bike rider. I also enjoy water skiing, hiking and cross country skiing. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a call, my family, and some relaxation to be able to deal with the day-to-day. By this time you probably could guess that first my inspiration comes from my relationship with Christ and my family. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Jim Bennett, because I didn't get to see him before he died. My biggest surprise in life was that I hated school and ended up with two Bachelor's Degrees and was called into ministry. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel our basement and add on a foot of head clearance. My dream home would be where we live now with a double lot. I've learned from my children that they are never, not listening even as adults. That I can never have too many kids by birth or by marriage. AND grandkids are even better! I'd most like to see my physics teacher Mr. Coval again because I've always envied his overhead projector skills. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to ministry, then spend the rest on my kids, my grand kids and my wife. To be truly happy I w...Expand for more
ould be where I am now doing ministry with my wife and friends. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong. I have no idea what ever happened to my first "crush." She doesn't even know I had it and for that matter didn't care then and wouldn't care now. My best friend would tell you I'm relatively shy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as stuck up. Style-wise I am fairly contemporary and keep up on current style relatively well. The wierdest job I ever had was frying french fries 20 hours a week. I share my home with my wife, son , daughter-in-law, grandson, granddaughter and two dogs, which I find challenging yet enjoyable.. A biking victory is surviving a 6 hour endurance race. In my family life - 37 years of marriage and three children who are following the Lord. My biggest victory in ministr is mentoring 7 teenagers into full time ministry. My "oldest" friend is my wife, we met in highschool and we "clicked" because I fell for immediately and she was very patient to get to know me. I think that my entire life would surprise people at a class reunion but especially that I've talked in front of thousands of people over the years. My first job was at Carol's Restaurant, where I got paid $1.25/hr to peel and frie potatoes. What I remember most about it is my acne was horrible and the smell was almost as bad.
