Ronald's Story
Life
My life--- I am still single (essentailly married to my work), still living in an apartment (thankfully, like my office, untouched by Hurricane Rita), and drive a 1999 Camaro. No boat, no house, no plane, no second car (and you guys probably thought all doctors were rich!). Aside from work, I am active in the local Rotary Club (where I have 8 years perfect attendance!) and the local Baptist Church (where I am a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher). Hobbies include movies, computer games, and reading. Never feeling you can have too much education, I recently started a Master of Arts in Religion degree over the internet. I am gaining new respect for anyone who went through seminary. That stuff's harder than I expected!
Workplace
Since 1996 I have a very unique private practice in Nederland, TX., that allows me to combine my diverse interests and training in obstetrics and gynecology, prima...Expand for more
ry care, and clinical psychology. Since I am in solo private practice, I am on call 24/7, so it is very difficult, but I wanted the freedom of being my own boss, and this is the price. Always seeking to expand my knowledge and skills, I am curremtly working on additional training and certification in the areas of biofeedback, hypnosis, and sex therapy.
I am on the fifth floor of a 6-floor, all-glass buildind. My office itself was untouched by Hurricane Rita, but the building received sufficient water damage taht they wouold not allow anyone to use the building for about 6 weeks. Part of that time I set up a temporary office in a local church.
Military
I spent 4 years on active duty as a clinical psychologist in the Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, IL., from 1982 to 1986. Then from 1987 to 2004 I was in the Air Force Reserves, as a physicians. I retired from the Reserves in 2004.
