One of Ronald's favorite quotes is:"Everyone is someone's student and teacher, and part of the lesson" My apologies for not knowing who "Someone" is. But if I might borrow their words...Someone once said, "It is better to light a candle then to curse the darkness." Someone else said, "I can give you a meal, and it will ease your hunger for one day, or I can teach you to plant a seed, and you can ease your own hunger for a life time." Maybe we are all a bit behind in the candles we light and the seeds we plant.--Ron Pettis "People have given their health to their doctor, their money to their banker, their soul to their preacher or priest, their children to the school system, and in doing so, have lost the power to control their lives. People buy things they don't need, at prices they can't afford, with money they don't have, to impress someone who doesn't give a damn."--Chief Long Tree "You were a mess when you were a baby...and you're STILL a mess!"--Mother Jefferson, of TV sitcom "The Jeffersons"(1975-1985), to her son George.". More about Ronald:"Like most of us, I probably spend too much time focusing my attention on the outside physical environment rather than on the spiritual environment within us. And like all others, I too have my share of human faults. But I look at faults as opp...Expand for more
ortunities for growth. Those faults are to be expected as part of being a temporary resident of this physical environment. We each have our own reasons for being students and teachers here at the earth school. And we have a plan to lead our way. At least that is the conclusion I've come to at this point in my life. But with my faults I also have the intent to try to love and try to help and try to do no harm...guide my words and actions. Often we are being thought of, appreciated, and loved...when we aren't even aware we are being thought of, appreciated, and loved. The most loving thing I can do for you is to recognize you for more than you believe yourself to be and say to you, "I wish you the fulfillment of your plan for growth, and thank you for being the you you know, and the YOU you don't remember." We all have our reasons for believing what we choose to believe. I will express my beliefs, but I have no need, desire, nor intent to debate our differing beliefs. Instead, I will thank you for presenting me with another view to consider. My beliefs are NOT carved in granite, instead, they are carved in sand. Ready to change with what new idea makes sense to me. I am happy to be at a point in my life where I can be relatively free to be me. I am who I am partly because of the people I have met on this journey through the classrooms of life. In seemingly positive or negative relationships. But just as there is no right or wrong, or good or bad, there are no positive or negative relationships. Only opportunities for growth. And that includes whatever relationship I have with you. So to you, my teacher, I say, thank you for being you. And that is probably more than you even wanted to know about me. :)".
