Life In April 1960 I turned seventeen, MC'd the Exchange Rally, had somehow lettered in Football, and was named "Senior Kat" in the school newspaper (real honor, you know. I still have the issue). After graduation, I immediately joined the Coast Guard for four years because I had been a Sea Explorer and it seemed the next thing to do. I was in Company Alpha 32. At the end of my enlistment I was anxious to get out and go to college. I enrolled at San Diego State University in 1964 and graduated with a degree in Marketing.
