Singapore was no different than the Arab world. The price of oil was so low that construction on virtually everything was at a standstill. As soon as the money starts rolling in, construction will quickly follow.

In the dry season, just a small flow of water is seen in this river bed.
Here we are enroute to Singapore paralleling the Himilayan Mountain range. Everest is off to our left but the visibility is not good enough to visually see it.
The dedication outside the Rock Garden. This is an amazing tourist attraction and I have added another album to do justice to it.

This is Chandigarh. This city was planned by an architect from the ground up. It has a higher standard than New Delhi and the streets show it. No trash, less people per square mile. Areas of vacant land are apparent.
Welcome to Chandigarh. You have to use the military base because there aren't that many usable airports.
