Ronald's Story
After High School, I spent 8 yers in the Army, to include a tour in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany.
After the military, I used the GI bill to educate myself, with a BS degree in Physics and Chemistry. That allowed me to get a job with the local Power Utility in Alabama & Tennessee, as a Nuclear Engineer in their Nuclear Plants. I've enjoyed doing this for the last 36 years. I'm a old man doing a young mans job. In a year & a half they can step up to bat.
Life has dealt me a hand I did'nt think I would have as I walked the halls of Harlandale High. Seemly it was a Royal Flush. I married a girl from Alabama, 43 years ago, then my life took on another level. My daughter was born, who's now a professor in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University,...Expand for more
and has given me two grandson who are MD's. My son, a graduate from University of Alabama, in Computer cience, also gave a son, who is my shadow. He's very capable of taking care of my pets here on the farm, 40 head of cattle. When I'm away on business. I think he wants to be NASCAR driver, the way he drives his 4-wheeler.
While stationed in Germany for 3 years, my family and I traveled Europe & the Middle East (when it was still safe). Also I took off a month a few years ago and we all went to California and back to Alabama. We wanted to it all that while we had the chance for all to go.
Retirement is next on the calender, who knows what it holds. My wife has been reitred from NASA for a few years now, really enjoys it, as I sure I will.
