Ronald's Story
After graduation, I attended Cal-State Hayward, which is now called Cal-State Eastbay, on a departmental sponsorship,as a music major, even though I was accepted by San Francisco State. I left Hayward State and became police officer for the City of Emeryville, in 1974. While at Emeryville, I worked as a patrolman, school resource officer and a detective specializing in juvenile and fraud crimes. On my off time I continued playing music in a local band, Winter. In 1980 we recorded an album, "A Warm Winter's Night" using Berkeley High School Concert Chorale for background arraignments. In 1984 I left Emeryville PD. In 1985 I joined Albany PD. While there I worked as a patrolman, started the bicycle division, the D.A.R.E. program, started and became Albany PAL's first executive director, and was one of Albany's first hosta...Expand for more
ge negotiators. I retired from Albany in 2004 after 29 plus years in law enforcement. My music continued, highlighted in 1994 and 1995 singing backup vocals for Kinney Loggins and Michael McDonald. I also performed in a Christmas musical production, "Black Nativity" by Langston Hughes 25 of the 28 years it ran. I started out as one of the musicians, then became a member of the cast, as a soloist, dancer and actor. The last 9 years I worked behind the scenes as Asst. Director/Stage Manager. The production ended in 2008, however due to numerous requests the we are planning to bringing this production back to the theatre the fall of 2010. As for me, since I retired I have gone to school and have become a certified massage practitioner and am in the process of starting my practice. That about sums it up for right now.
