Ronnie Newman:  

After graduation in june of 1963 I started working for GTE on Los Nietos Rd.in Santa Fe Springs,CA. I worked in the instrument shop repairing used telephones for redistribution, those were the days when the telephone Co. owned all of the telephones. I kicked around Whittier/La Habra area for quite awhile. We (John Bernardino, Rex Scharp and myself) used to go to all of the local dances at that time. Harmony Park Ballroom in Anaheim, Retail clerks Union in Buena Park and Skatearama in Downey. I went to RHC and FJC on and off but never graduated but had a great time anyway, besides I had this wonderful job at GTE. I was into cars and had a couple of cars back then that I would love to have back now. I took up snow skiing in 1969 and it has been a life long passion ever since. I first rented equipment at Conlin Bros. in uptown Whittier. I went skiing locally and I was immediately hooked I went skiing the next 6 wknds in a row to Wrightwood, back then it was called Blue Ridge now you know it as Mountain High.
