Rosalie's Story
In the nearly 30 years since high school, I've worked for a U.S. Senator (in Phoenix and in Washington, D.C.), I've been a lobbyist, run the state tobacco control program, got married, bought a house, had two kids, started writing and got a dog.
I live in South Tempe with my husband, Doug, and our two kids, Noah (8) and Olivia (6). We have a basset hound named Lili, who is quite possibly the stupidest animal on the planet, but we still love her.
I work part-time from home directing a non-profit organization that promotes adolescent health. I have become a cliche in that I do all the traditional "mom" stuff--serve on the PTO Board at the kids' school, teach religious education at church, volunteer in the community. When I'm not catering to them, I am a freelance writer for a parenting magazine, an Asian newspaper and a contributing columnist for the Arizona Republic--Tempe Community Edition (I have a website, email me and I'll send you the address).

eball games. Olivia isn't much of a joiner, she prefers to play with her best friend and sing Hannah Montana. Noah is obsessed with baseball and we're hoping his dream of becoming a highly paid professional baseball player comes true.
For fun, my husband and I get movies from Netflix, and I admit an addiction to reality tv and making fun of the Food Network programs. I remain a recovering political junkie, and am afraid that my kids know who Chuck Todd is (he's the political director of NBC news). I lean more to the left (especially on social issues), but find myself becoming increasingly (and scarily) more conservative on some issues (mostly on economic issues) as I grow older. My world vision has changed significantly since becoming a parent.
I don't get to Miami much anymore; my mom and sister still live there, and we visit a few times a year. My kids ask how I was able to grow up in the middle of nowhere. I don't have a good answer for them. Yet.
Hope everyone who reads this is well. Leave me a message and let me know how you're doing.
