Life After graduation in '66 I went onto ELAC and finished in January '69. I began Cal State L.A. in March of '69 and majored in English. I took teacher prep courses and student taught from Sept to Dec of '70. I was hired in Jan of '71 at Fourth Street Elementary. I taught 3rd & 4th for 1 yr., then Kindergarten for 12 yrs and 2nd for 1 yr. From 1985 - 1998, I taught at Belvedere Elementary Kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd. I am presently at Sunrise Elementary (formerly known as Jackson High School for "bad boys") since 1998. I taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade and a 2nd-3rd combination my last couple of years. I have been a Bilingual Education teacher since the early 1970's. I teach in Spanish and English. I retired in 2008. My retirement cruise was to the Panama Canal. The cruise started in Fort Lauderdale and ended in LA. I planned this cruise for 10 years. The ship stopped in Aruba, then Cartagena, Columbia, next ithrough the Panama Canal which lasted from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm. In the Rain Forest in Costa Rica I had a bad fall and after that I spent the 2nd week of my cruise on the Coral Princess. I missed visiting Nicaragua, Guatemala and lastly Hualtuco, Mexico located in Oacaca. When I'm on vacation I love to cruise. I've been to Alaska, the Bahamas, the Mexican Riviera and the Baltic Sea where I visited Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Poland & Norway. I've also visited the Canadian Rockies. Summer of 2010 I took 2 cruises the first on the Queen Victoria to the British Isles visiting Cherbourg, France,/ Cobh, Ireland,/ Dublin, Ireland,/ Liverpool, England,/ Northern, Belfast,/ Greenoch, Scotland,/ Edinborough, Scotland. Spent 1 night in Southampton, England when I visited Stone Henge and Winchester Cathedral. The next day I boarded the Queen Elizabeth for the Transatlantic crossing.to New Y...Expand for more
