Rosalyn's Story

Life I have been living in the Middle East (Salmiya, Kuwait) for the last 3 years working in support of the U.S. Govt and our soldiers. I am anti-war! I am pro PEACE! I try to travel to the U.S. once a year to spend time with my wonderful family, but they are never far from my thoughts everyday. School My biggest crush was on Dennis Carroll WHHS 1971, he was one of my sisters very close friends and I used to tell me cousin that he was going to be my boyfriend. Mind you he was a senior and I was an effie. But as luck would have it, we ran into one another at the WHHS Black Alumni Reunion in 1990 and dated for a bit,it was long distance and didn't survive, but we are still friends. Just goes to show you the persistents of an WHHS grad in accomplishing goals that we set for ourselves (LOL). Jay (Sly) Stewart was the teacher who inspired me most. He was firm, but fair and never accepted mediocrity from me. If I had to do it all over again at WHHS I would in a hearbeart!! There are people that I've met over the years that resent the special connection and affinity that I have for WHHS and all of the wonderful memories, but that is theirs to deal with! I give thanks for that huge part of my making and being! Spilling the crush was bad enough, if I told any of the funny, crazy stories it would implicate too many of my dear old friends who have matured and grown into well respected individuals with families that know nothing of their past so, I think I'll keep it that way! nded Kent State University. Where we joined the likes of Curtis Clingman (75). They helped me do a couple of prank like things to my room mate my freshman year because she was weird and a bully. We had some laughs and then I moved, never to see her again. I have not seen any of that college gang since I graduated in 1980. Workplace I work for a Cayman Island firm in support of the U.S. Govt in the Middle East. I am a Senior Subcontracts Administrator who is responsible for anything fuel related for the miliatary in Kuwait. I maintain huge contracts with various firms that help us do what we need to do here. I am also still working to expand my Home Based Business, "Our Heritage Arts." I've been in business since 1995 when I returned to Atlanta from Dallas, TX. I sell original art that I bring back from Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean. I also design and sell wearable art in the form of fun and funky clothing. My latest design is my "Osun" line which is named after the West African Yoruba Deity who is the Goddess of Love,Charm, Beauty, Fertility and Power! My dream is to retire to Brazil and run my Bed & Breakfast. I've traveled so much of the world and I pray that it doesn't stop until the day that I die. It has been so helpful in defining who I am, what I love and how I see myself, the world and my place in it! They say live locally but think globally and I've opted to live and think globally! I give thanks for the opportinity to see so much of the world and share life with so many different types of people, for I am a World Woman!
