Life
After graduating from UCSC in 77, I went to Cambridge, England and got my M.Phil in Linguistics. Worked for an academic journal in Cambridge for a couple of years, got married to an English veterinary surgeon and raised two kids - Leo, (born 1982) and Fay (born 1987) in Devon, the 'English Riveria'. y biz for ten years. Ran a women's basketball team in Exeter for 16 years including playing, coaching and refereeing.
September 2001 saw me embarking on a new adventure: I started the doctoral program in Applied Linguistcs at UCLA... Occasionally the enormity of what I have taken on taps me on the shoulder and reminds me how nuts I am!
