Rose's Story
First let me shout out a great big "Hello Everyone! Come on up for some porch time.". That's what I tell the neighbors. Our humble home here in Southern Maryland has a front porch just perfect for watching the world go by and that's where you will find me when I'm not up to my ears in a project.
Life (and the Big Guy upstairs)has been good to me. Blessings abound. In 2005 I married the most wonderful man you would ever want to meet. (He's that handsome fellow in the white uniform. "WOW!") Together we have a life filled with happiness, hope and a whole lot of love.
In 2007 Jay retired from the United States Navy after 25 years of service. We spent a year moving around as he gained some Corporate America skills. Then we returned to our final duty station for him to work in the government support field. He is currently working on his Masters Degree in Program Management. In our off time we love to travel, snuggle up on movie nights, putter in the garden, watch some racing, herd our three cats, wack a golf ball, do a little plinking, and last but not least, gather with family and friends. Life is good.
We have my son James and our "other young'en" Robert to fill our lives with adventure. James lives in NC next door to his grandparents. He's doing grea...Expand for more
t! He works and is thinking about going to school. He also has a really sweet girlfriend. Robert, who just graduated from Navy Boot Camp, is in Great Lakes, IL completing his career training. We are so proud of them.
My years since graduating have been filled with work and family. For the most part I was a stay at home mom while the boys were growing up. I did a lot of volunteering as well as some part time work. Which led to a long and sometimes unusual list of skills. The most interesting ones are Odyssey of the Mind Coach, Animal Cruelty Investigator, Pet Therapist, Maintenance Clerk, Customer Service Manager and Elementary School Teacher.
Those are just a few of the things I've done in the past and I'm always looking for a new challenge. I love arts and crafts. Recently I did floral arrangements, decorating and coordinated a wedding. I love to crochet and have my own business designing and making shawls, blankets, afghans and other crocheted items. Of all the things I've done I'm the happiest being a wife and mother. It just doesn't get any better than that.
I hope to hear from my classmates. I've never stopped thinking of you and I would love to know how you are all doing. What's your definition of "It doesn't get any better than this?"
