Rosemary's Story
Oh my Gosh; it's been 50 years....Hello Everyone....I guess I'll start with the present and move back in time:
I have been living in Texas for the past 25 years. Retired as a Science Teacher (never made it to med school) I just listed my home with All Star Realty in Brownsville, Texas...as it is time to downsize, and move back to the Northwest where my two daughters, Angela and Mia live .
One in Eugene, Ore., and one in Bellingham, WA. I have three beautiful grandchildren, I have lived alone now for over 30 years; choosing an independent lifestyle, went to the Netherlands two times this year to visit my Dutch Family that I grew up with. My last trip was over Christmas, and I hope to be going back mid summer to live there 6mo. a year, and in the USA near my daughters 6mo a year with duel citizenship.
I sell at Farmers Markets from time to time...known as jamakinrose...making sweet hot pepper jams harvesting my peppers from my gardens. I have 2.5 acres of land.I have created my "little bit of heaven" with botanical medicinal gardens, small orchard with tropical fruit trees, and put in a swimming pool and jacuzzi 8 yrs ago as a retirement gift to myself..haha. Oh, I also board horses getting the benefit of really great fertilizer.
After leaving Moses Lake, having finished at BBCC, I graduated from Western Wash. State College with several teaching degrees, married a Navy man, father of my girls, and lived in Japan for just over a year. Moved to Coeur d' Alene,Idaho, and lived there for about 20 years. or 6 months. Moved back to Bellingham, Wa. then moved to Texas. My friends call me a racehorse..haha.
Unfortunately, I did not get to know many of you in High School just being there my Senior Year. Those of us who went on to BBCC I got to know much better, and became really good friends. My two years at BBCC were the best memories in my college days.Those of you who remember our "study group" in the cafeteria late into the day, and our Ski Club trip, I have such fond memories. Hoping to hear from more of you, as I am having a difficult time finding our "rat pack" haha. Not sure yet if I can make it in September, but I will try, as I have already planned my trip back to Holland for that time. ha ha. I found Kara Kopels yesterday, and remember her $50 car she bought that we carpooled in to get to work, and I had to hold on to the wire coat hanger to keep the passenger from blowing open. I also remember several of us sneaking out for lunch to the Tasty Freeze at lunch to buy the $1 burger, fries, and drink, but don't remember who everyone was. Ah, those were the days.... On the sad side, I remember sitting in the morning Current Event Class when Kennedy was shot, then that Summer after we graduated the Vietnam War, and the consequence of our Class President not returning home. Hopefully we have all transitioned through most lifes paths, with peace, harmony and love as we enter our "Senior Years." Sending everyone my regards and best wishes with good health.
