Roslyn's Story
After high school, I couldn¿t wait to get away from home. I went to Oneonta State for a couple of years, dropped out and then migrated to California -San Francisco to be exact.. I thought I was doing a really cool and unique thing but I was surprised to bump into quite a few people I knew from the East coast including some from Division Ave (whose names I can no longer remember). After bumming around the coast, living the free and easy lifestyle of the time, and sometimes working, I finally settled down(well, sort of). Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. That was the best of times. I had my own greenhouse, I loved growing plants and I was in charge of the one collection that everyone else wanted-the Orchids! What a blast. And I actually got paid to do this. The other cool thing-I met my future husband there. We got married, produced a kid and decided to move back to the East Coast (Maine ) to raise our daughter and enjoy the country lifestyle. We still get down to New York City for a taste of civilization and to visit my mother who still lives in the same house I grew up in in Levittown.
