Roxan's Story
After graduating from high school I married my best friend. We have been married almost 43 years now and are still best friends. Before having kids I took some college classes (only classes I found interesting) We have 3 children (boy, girl, boy) and 6 grandchildren (5 girls & 1 boy). I was fortunate enough to be able to be a full time mother with a part-time job. Being as I did not like school, it is surprising that I ended up working as a teacher's aide in a Resource Class for the last 31 years. I will be retiring this coming June to travel and hopefully do some of the hobbies I have not had time to do.
My husband and I do almost everything together. We enjoy traveling and outdoor activities. Camping with ...Expand for more
friends and taking walks when we are on campouts. We have been busy helping take care of our parents for the last 14 years. Thank god, my parents are still in pretty good health. Unfortunately my husbands father passed away and his mother has needed a fair amount of help. My sister (Linda, class of "65") and brother (Joe or John, class of "70") both live in the state of Washington where my parents also live. My husband and I spend part of our summer seeing that my parents are taken care of(last years project was re-roofing my parents house,a job I hope to never have to do again). My husband and I also help take care of and watch over our 5 grand daughters.
We are planning to do a lot of traveling when I retire.
