Roxann's Story
Life
I taught elementary school in New York, Idaho and Washington. After 11 years of teaching elementary school, I have been teaching future teachers at Western Washington University since 1999. I teach in the Department of Elementary Education. My husband and I were married in 1990 and we had our adorable little boy in 2003. We love being parents!
School
I am living in Bellingham with my husband of 18 years, Paul Duckworth. We just had our first child, Tyrel, in March 2003. We are really enjoying parenthood.
I teach at Western Washington University. Since becoming a mom, I am teaching on-line classes from home. I missed our 20 year reunion because I had a WSU reunion the same weekend. I chose the WSU party because the location and schedule were more baby friendly. I hope everyone had a blast at the 20 year reunion! Maybe I'll see you at the 30 year reunion!
College
I began my WSU experience living in Stephenson North. I then moved to Re...Expand for more
gents Hall my sophomore year when I became an RA. My junior year, I was the assistant hall director of Davis Hall. The next year, I was the hall director of Davis Hall. My last year at WSU, I was the hall director of Stimson Hall when it reopened after its major remodeling. Stimson Hall housed 200 men...and me! I met my husband, Paul, at Stimson. In the spring of 2003, we had our first child, Tyrel. I have taught elementary aged children in New York, Idaho, and Washington. In 1996, I was one of 36 kindergarten-12th grade teachers honored by the Walt Disney Company in the American Teacher Awards. I continue to be involved with the Disney Company as an educational consultant. I have been teaching in the Department of Elementary Education at Western Washington University since 1999. Since having my baby, I teach from home (teaching on-line courses). Life is good. Paul (a 1992 WSU grad) and I root for the Cougs and enjoy our memories at WSU.
