Roxanne's Story
Life is full of surprises. Who would have thought that at age 45 I would have been facing the prospect of the end of my life already? Well, I was.
I found out that I, as my younger brother just had, needed a liver transplant. ( Thankfully, I had health insurance )
I was placed on a transplant list, and over the next four years was treated at the Mayo clinic. I waited, My family waited, and when it seemed like things were getting pretty hopeless, and I couldn't make it much longer, that call came in the middle of the night. "Roxanne, This is Dr.Rosen we have a liver ...Expand for more
for you. Can you get down here right away?"
That morning, I got a new liver. I got a new LIFE . Hell, I got a life period.
The point of my writing this is not to whine, but to try to make an impression on anyone who might read it, how important a simple little thing like signing a donor card can be. Please, be generous with what you have to give. Please consider Organ and or tissue donation. Both living, and upon your death. It could mean so much to so many. And is really such an simple gift.
What a way to live on and be remembered, and help others. a win , win!
