Roxanne's Story
Life
How time flies. What have I've been doing the last 50+ years. I went to college and married my high school sweetheart, Tom Alderete. We had two kids and I stayed home for many years raising them. As my kids were growing, I did a lot of freelance work with magazines and publishers designing mostly fabric-related crafts and projects, and writing the "how-to" instructions.
When Tom and I divorced in 1987 I went to work for Dakin Toy Company. I designed high-end realistic plush animals for them for four years. I then went to work for the Folkmanis Puppet Company and have been designing for them for 27 years. I'm working on letting me work part time.

arried in Figi in 1995 and we live in the foothills of the Sierras. Good thing my boss has always let me do most of my work at home. I go into the office once a week. I couldn't ask for a better job.
It is so great to see my kids, grown up and doing well. My daughter Alison lives in Tucson and is an engineer. She and her husband have three girls. I love being grandma. My son Chris lives in the Bay Area, works as a Wildlife Biologist, and is married with one son and two daughters. Sometimes when I am with my kids, my son, who I just love being around, or watching my daughter deal with her kids, being a great mom and a great person, I think, maybe I did sometihing right.
