Roxi Fab (born Rochelle Helm) grew up in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, and constantly around music. At an early age her father, Philadelphia legendary radio personality Carl Helm, exposed her to all genres of music, as well as meeting the artist and producers themselves. Artists such as The First Choice, Dee Dee Sharp, Deniece Williams, Phyllis Hyman, Patti Labelle, Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five to producers like Kenny Gamble, Thom Bell, and Bunny Sigler just to name a few.
As a child, Roxi wrote poetry and began singing in school choirs and plays. Eventually she began taking piano and vocal...Expand for more
lessons. Roxi met Patti Labelle at an early age and has been a family friend for many years. Having conversations with Patti and attending every concert with her longtime childhood friend Fahja Joshua, Pattiâs niece, Roxi soon became a dedicated fan and realized her true love was to sing. But while music was her passion, she also became interested in makeup, hair and fashion.
While songwriting, Roxi still pursued her love for makeup. Along this path she was introduced to celebrity makeup artist extraordinaire Sam Fine. Sam quickly became a good friend as well as mentor.
While music was her true love, Roxi continued to pursue an Esthetician license while taking classes from Sam Fine and other beauty industry professionals.
Roxi has sung with EOS Band (Expression of Soul) out of Philadelphia led by Mr. TaâRon Bumpus. She is currently singing with Primetime Dance Band led by Mr. James Wynn. Along with Primetime, she has sung for the Democratic Campaign for Joe Sestak led by Councilman Dwight Evans, the Philadelphia Mayoral campaign for Mayor Michael Nutter, and some standing room only shows at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Arts as well as performing her own Tribute to Phyllis Hyman show. She has hosted numerous shows and just loves the crowd! She is also writing with Damon Bennett, Raj Holloman, and is in the process of collaborating with other Philadelphia producers. Roxi is currently writing and recording for her own project, hoping to be released by the Spring of 2012.".
