Life
My Spouse Silver (Sylvia)
I met her in Dallas, TX in jail. Ha Ha, We went to sing Christmas carols with a church group. I gave my song sheet to a prisoner and she offered to share her song sheet with me. Did you know that a songsheet could conduct electricity? For me, it was love-at-first-sight.
I saw her again in Sunday School at church. Later, we played volleyball and she spiked my heart. We had pizza together afterwards and the rest is history. I fell in love with her in 1987 but it took me until January 2, 2005 to get her to marry me. I was very persistent. We were married at First Baptist of Jackson by our old friend and CHS grad (59) David Westerfield. The marriages he performs are everlastingly blessed and really mean until death do us part.
My wife's name is Sylvia, she was raised in Dallas TX. She is a RN and is currently traveling. She is a very competent, loving and caring nurse.
We have a farm in Louisville, MS and moved there in April of 2006. I still consult but for only one client. Since we have moved to the country we not slowed down. I am off the road for good(?) but Sylvia is going to travel nurse a little while longer.
My Kids
My son Roy Jr. lives outside of Dallas TX, happily married to his wife Christy. They have no children and don't plan any (big disappointment).
Roy graduated from USM and immediately chose the big city lifestyle of Dallas.
He works for a JR college and lives on 3 acres in the country and has horses and mini-horses.
My oldest daughter Cindy is married to Joaquin Kurtz and lives in Byram. She has a daughter Christine (22) that is planning to make a career as a zookeeper. Christine plays clarinet, flute, oboe, tenor and alto saxophone and is a wonderful student. Christine plays my old tenor sax from high school. It has been rebuilt at least 4 times since I graduated in 1961. Cindy also has a daughter named Dallas. Dallas was born on September 29, 2000. September 29 is also Cindy's birthday.
Cindy has lived in Scottsdale AZ, and Dallas TX.
My youngest Daughter Merrie is married to Mark Hardy and has a son Alec (September 4 1998) and a daughter Madeline (August 5, 2005). Merrie works for the Ir...Expand for more

I have a stepson Matthew, he lives in Austin Tx. He works fir a telecom company. He is married and has a daughter named Luca (Feb 1999).
Our Pets
I have a Yorkshire terrier named Sassy. Sassy is 12 years old and is a very fat 5 1/2 pounds. she was Sylvia's dog at one time but when we were living in Puerto Rico, she chose me as her master.
Sassy travels well and has lived in Charlotte NC, San Juan Puerto Rico, Richmond VA, Jackson MS, and Scottsdale AZ and now rules 21 acres in Louisville, MS. She has visited Washington DC, Gettysburg PA, Charlottesville VA and Lancaster PA (Amish country). We have had Dan (a Benji-type mutt) and Belle, (a happy-go-lucky beagle) since 2002.
They are boyfriend/girlfriend. Dan stays inside but Belle goes everywhere with me at the farm.
I am off the road for good(?) but Sylvia is going to travel nurse a little while longer.
Sylvia's animals
She has 2 Arabians. Jasmine is a white 20 year mare that we do not breed because of health issues. Texas is a 19 year old gelding and he is her constant companion. Skipper is a 16 year old Welch. He is a perfect gentlemen and lets all the grandkids ride him. We saddle him up, they get one and he takes them anywhere they want to go. All of these guys are like part of the family.
We have 5 burros that protect our sheep from predators. The girls (Hosannah, her daughter Josie and Joy) are gentle. The guys (Asta, and Absalom) are a little more rambuncious.
We have 3 shetlands. Stormcloud is a 4 year old stallion and his two young (less than a year old) girlfriends get along well. Ginger and Sugar can talk to Stormy but are not allowed to date until they get older.
Grandkid's animals
Each grandchild has a minature filly and share a community stallion. His name is Harem-son. He is named after my brother John's Arabian. Little Star is white and very petite. She belongs to Madeline. Raven is jet black and belongs to Dallas. Alec has a brown filly but I do not remember her name. Sylvia is in charge of naming everybody and I always agree. The three young ladies are not allowed to date until they get older.
