Roy's Story
Life
After 25 years teaching special education on the US-Mexico border, I am returning to college to get a masters degree in library and information science. I taught at Gadsen High School were 96% of the students were Hispanic and living in poverty. My students ran a restaurant on campus and were very successful.
I moved from New Mexico to Oklahoma (the buckle of the bible belt) where Kathleen, my wife, is a professor at Oklahoma State University. I am attending the University of Oklahoma.

t college town. I always wanted to live in a college town just did not know that it could be so culturally conservative. I had to give up one of my loves, soccer, so I have gained about ten pounds. Yet one of my other joys is bigger here. I play foosball, table soccer, and Tulsa has four professional tournaments a year. Mostly I lose but recently defeated the no. 2 ranked player in the world (Terry Moore), the defending world singles champ (Tony Spredman), and defending world doubles champ (Eddie Gartman) to win my first pro event.
