Roy's Story
Life
It all started with "This Old House". Then it was "Hometime", "Weekend Warriors", "Designed To Sell" and now "Income Property". Where ever I am living, I just go wild. When my dad left our homeplace to Vonnie and me, I did NOT want to sell it. So guess where I spend my 5 weeks of vacation now? Wayland! The lower level is now livable and looks great. Still lots to do...old buildings to tear down, some landscaping and of course, the upstairs.
January 2008 Update:
The inside of the whole house is finally livable, rented out, and looks great! There are projects to finish, but almost every house could use something.

Following an electrical fire, in May of 2008, the insurance company paid a contractor to make the house livable again. The house is actually better now. There are some enlarged room openings and a much larger front door. We are still waiting for the outcome of the investigation into the cause. Someone was reconnecting wires, on the power pole in front of the house, when the fire started. Fortunately, we had an electrician update the entire electrical system in the beginning.
All of the old out buildings, which were in disrepair, have been removed. The back yard looks more parklike now. The tenants just keep improving the landscape as well!
