Ruben's Story
From 1977-1980 I was a HOSA Ho. I was asked to and attended all 3 senior proms from 1978-1980. And 1982. I Graduated with honors, #12 out of 122 in my class. Top 10. Next I Attended the U of H. until my house burned down with my mom in it Christmas 1983. She was over come by smoke and asphyxiated. After burying my mother, Homeless and orphaned I started a business, married and had 3 angels. By 1993 I was divorced and a Single Dad with Custody. My CHILDREN are my MARK on this WORLD. This was the most rewarding time of my life being a single father and spending every day taking care of my children and guiding them through their lives. I had been a business owner until my divorce at which time I sold and spent all my time with my children making breakfast and having lunch with them at school and volunteering in their class rooms. on returning to work, I was a grant writer, program curriculum writer, counselor and teacher for at risk youth which allowed me to be on the same schedule as my precious children. Once they began to enter college I switched careers and became the Litigation Manager filing law suits and negotiating settlements for a law firm of trial lawyers until they retired. I too have retired and continue to enjoy my children’s company along with my grandson. I have begun again to work on my book about being a single father and hope to publish one day however that is a hobby and my grandson and my children are still first in my life. I will update you when I publish. Until then be safe, hug your children everyday and remember every day is gift.

Please some one post the 1980 year book, my saved pictures and memories were all destroyed in the fire of 1983.
