After graduating high school in the early 1960’s, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent the remainder of his enlistment as a Army Engineer (Liquid Oxygen & Nitrogen Production Specialist) in Germany.
Upon receiving his Honorable Discharge, he returned to California.
After a few years of working, he returned to school utilizing his government educational benefits.
He started his career in IT (Information Technology) in January, nineteen-seventy seven. He was hired as the first Afro-American Programmer/Analyst to work for the Sears Corporation.
After a satisfying IT career that spanned thirty-five plus years, Mr. Bluthenthal has retired from his work as a Computer Scientist / Consultant. He holds a PhD in Computer Science.
He has been married to his beautiful wife Willie for twenty-eight plus years and enjoys spending time with his four Great-Grandchildren in the Victorville, CA. area.".
