Rudy's Story
Greeting to All!
I graduated in 1972 and yet, it seem like only yesterday that we (the Grandfalls Cowboys) were running on to the football field to win one for GRHS. I remember being in the huddle and looking at the faces of individuals that were like brothers to me; players like Steve Arney, Bob Randolph, Raul Avila, Ruben Gutierrez, Rey Ramirez, Allan Tucker, Lawayne Day, Stevie Walker, James Mullins, Lovelle Floyd, Joe Cavazos, Jesus DeLaO, Jim Adcock, Chris Derrick, Sam Carrell, Steve Brooks, Ruben Vasquez, Rudy Ramirez, Doug Derrick and my brother, Alvaro Sanchez. I had the privilege to be their quarterback and it was a privilege that I will always treasure!

ard, looked out for each other, and never let each other down. "Semper Fi!" - The motto of the United States Marine Corps which means "always faithful!"
Grandfalls-Royalty High School and the Marine Corps have both given me many unforgettable learnings and memories; and I am forever thankful! However, I realize that these two great institutions are made up of individuals who make a difference in one's life. Individuals like the players mentioned above and many others - like Coach John McCabe, Coach Billy Rankin, Coach Robert Moore, Mrs. Helen Potts, Mrs. Bettie Brooks, Mr. James Witcher, Mr. Jim Yancey, Mr. Edmund Martinez and many more.
So, to all of you who participated in my GRHS journey, I thank you for the heartfelt memories and for helping me be a better person today.
