Russ's Story

GRADUATED WITH BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE'S FROM CALIF STATE UNIVERISTY-LONG BEACH IN 1970. MARRIED H/S SWEETHEART KATHY MURPHY...STILL TOGETHER AFTER 38 YEARS.
MOVED TO ARIZONA AND GOT INVOLVED IN STATE GOVERNMENT BECAME STATE LOBBYIST THEN UNDERSHERIFF OF MARICOPA COUNTY. POLITICS WERE THICK...SO LEFT AND BECAME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR SPOUSAL AND BATTERED CHILDREN'S CENTER...GOT BURNED OUT AND JOINED THE RANKS OF THOSE MONEY MAKERS...SALES.
STARTED IN SOLAR THEN GOT INVOLVED IN TIMESHARE...YES, TIMESHARE!!! STARTED IN ARIZONA, ENDED UP IN FLORIDA. NOW IN MY 19TH YEAR. BEEN REGIONAL THIS AND THAN, VP OF THIS AND THAT...INDUSTRY ALWAYS CHANGING. BUT LOVE IT AS WE TRAVEL ALL THE TIME.
THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO RETIRE SOON, BUT LOST LIKE MOST PEOPLE IN STOCK MARKET, SO STILL PLUGGING AWAY. I'M GOING THROUGH MY SECOND CHILDHOOD, GO TO ALL THE BIKER EVENTS AND HAVE THE ULTIMATE HARLEY...THE 2002 "SCREAMING EAGLE ROAD KING!" KATHY IS STILL A LOOKER AND WEARS THE LEATHER...WHAT THERE IS OF IT!!

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW....FOR ALL OF YOU THAT HAD THOSE JOBS WITH RETIREMENT BENEFITS AND ARE SITTING ON YOUR BUTTS AT HOME ENJOYING YOUR FREE TIME--KISS MY BUTT!! HA HA.
BYE FOR NOW.
School
School was a haze. Remember having class...Expand for more
es, but Mr. Daly was the only teacher that made an impact. Oh yeah...Remember Cary Gibbs...who married the high school student...way to go teach!!
The best things I remember are just friendships. Best thing that happened was meeting my future wife, Kathy.
College
College was a hoot....remember the War Protest, the marches, the screwballs that went after degrees in Sociology because the liberal teachers would pass them due to political expression rather than brains. Bunch of morons, they took away real education from so many during that time.
On the positive, it was a time when so many really studied to stay in school rather than go to War. I was one of them and ended up in Law Enforcement teaching Vietnamese soldiers to go back to Viet Nam to use their sniper training to blow away the enemy. Ironic..
My chief trainer was Lt. Happersett, who had a million dollar bounty on his head due to the chaos he caused in the War saving U.S. lives by his "unique" missions behind the lines. A true patriot. God bless America and our fighting men.
Workplace
Life has been a unique battle uphill. All I can say is that life is ever changing and I would not change anything. I have gone from a structured job in Law Enforcement to success in sales. I like sales as you create your own income and can achieve anything you want. You can succeed, fail and start over again and not skip a beat.
Only thing forgot to do was to call broker in time with "sell" order. Damn Enron!!!
