Russell's Story
After RHS, I moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins and study math and computer sciences. In 1983, I drove across the country (southern route) with a friend of mine to settle in the San Francisco Bay Area. I got married in 1984. My wife, Michelle Chiou, and I have one son, who was born on the 4th of July in 1995. We have lived in Fremont, CA, which is in Silicon Valley, since 1988. [The Oakland A's baseball team is moving to Fremont. The "first pitch" in their new stadium is supposed to be in 2012.]

business and really enjoy working with interesting people to help them achieve their goals.
I spend a lot of my free time volunteering in my community. I'm the president of my son's junior high school PTA, a director of our neighborhood owner's association, and was the founding chair of our city's school bond oversight committee. I was the campaign strategy director for my friend's 2008 school board campaign - she was just elected. I'm also a volunteer parent for various chess tournaments my son participates in. His "handle" on ICC (Internet Chess Club) is "gnilrets". He has a 1388 US chess rating and loves to play tournament chess and run 5K and 10K races.
