Life: update as of Feb. 16, 2018 Hi anyone and everyone. I still live in Dighton. I retired in 2008 after 36 years at the Aggie School. They live here in town . My oldest daughter Sarah lives in Hillsboro, N.C. She and her husband Matt Davies have four children Taylor 20, Grace 16 1/2 , Aiden 12 and Sophie 11. Sarah's Matt is the director of a real estate sales school and has written several books to prepare real-estate agents for their state licenses. Our Oldest son Jedediah is a chemical engineer and works for Titleist Golf and his wife Julie teaches in Attleboro. Our daughter Abigail graduated from Mass College of Art and lives in Greensboro NC with her husband Matt who works in healthcare insurance billing. Abigail is a compound technician in a pharmacy that specializes in mixing drugs. She continues her art projects on a part-time basis. Our younger son Zachary graduated from Worcester State College and is an engineer and sales consultant for a technology company and his wife Lindsey is a pharmacist. My Sisters// Judy lives in Chelmsford, Susan in Woodbridge VA, Julia (Chickie) in Lakeville and my brother Ed retired in 2010 and moved from N.C. to the Fort Kent area in Maine. He and his southern wife love their home over-looking the lake in St. David. My Dad was 91 when he passed on his farm in Maine 2010 and Mom passed in 2000. Nancy and I enjoy traveling. We went to Australia and New Zealand for our first big "retirement trip." We left on Thanksgiving 2008 and were gone for 64 days. We took a 21-day group tour and saw the major sites of central and eastern Australia including three beautiful days on Hayman Island surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef. We also went to both Islands that make up New Zealand. W...Expand for more
e spent the holidays with friends in the Melbourne area and they took us touring around the state of Victoria. Nancy and I also visited Tasmania for 5 days. and I learned to drive on the wrong side of the road. Since that first big trip, we have been visiting National Parks, and have enjoyed travels out west, down to Key West, and Canada . We joined our Australian friends for their big retirement trip in 2013 to the Canadian Rockies and Alaska. Nancy and I had a great time traveling with 36 Ozzies and two Kiwis. I wore my NRA hat proudly! In 2015 we left right after Christmas and visited our Australian friends til the end of January. This included two "night-crossings" on the Spirit of Tasmania for a 10-day visit there. In February we flew to Queenstown, NZ where we picked up a campervan. We spent two weeks exploring the South Island and then ferried over for two weeks on the North. We did a lot of driving along Route 1 in New Zealand, from the furthest South at The BLUFF to the furthest North at Cape Reinga. Route 1 is 2033 Km (1263 Miles). While in New Zealand we had a great time taking five different "Lord of the Rings" tours. I am currently planning another trip back to Australia and New Zealand for 2019. I would highly suggest adding this to anyone's bucket list! E-mail me if you are thinking about traveling "Down Under", I would be happy to share some tips. Last June I learned to drive a motorcycle ( "first timer"), purchased a BMW R1100R, put 1000 plus miles around town learning. Dropped it a few times, what can I say! It is about six hundred pounds and when you get it out of balance, it is best to just step away. Looking forward to some great riding this summer. Remember this my friends........IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN? Well that's the latest update. I would love to hear from all who take the time to check up on me.
