Russell's Story
Life
I am updateing this bio to include the years spent in the Latimer school system. In 1946 I attended 6th grade at the Coulter grade school and then in the 47 thru 49 I attended the old school in Latimer till the fall of 49. I then moved to Lyle with my Parrents and my Brother and Sisters, to a farm that my Parents purchased. My sister Charlene and I then attended the Lyle High School in 1950 thru 54. When I graduated from Lyle I worked for a farmer and then about a year latter joined the US Army. I was a member of the Army Security Agency and went to Germany for 2 and 1/2 years. of 55 and she went to Germany with me. We had our first two sons while serving in the Army.
In 1958 we returned to Minnesota and I worked for Botsford Lbr Co as the Assistant Manager in Ellendale for a year. I then moved to Albert Lea, and worked for Gordon Electric, in sales and service untill 1965. I then went to work for the City of Albert Lea as a fire fighter, I was promoted to a Fire Capt. in 1978 and then retired from the Fire service in 1998. I Married my second wife Joan in 1972. I work part time for Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant and in charge of Maintenance untill Dec. of 2001.
