Russell's Story
Life
After graduating from Moore in 1975, I attended UofL and graduated with a degree in computer science. I have worked in that field for the past 30 years.
In 1981, I moved to Houston, TX to work for the airline that later became Continental. After they went into bankruptcy, I left to work for Pennzoil. I had seen my future wife working there, but actually met her at church when I visited the one she attended. We married in 1990 after about a 6 month courtship. Our daughter was born 9 months and 3 weeks after the wedding!
I had begun working for a consulting firm shortly after our daughter was born in 1991 and was transferred to Birmingham, Alabama in 1993. Our son was born in 1996. We lived in Alabama until 2000, when I was transferred to Chicago. After 9/11, the company I was with went through a huge layoff and I was one of those affected. Thankfully, the company I had been doing consulting for was able to hire me one month after I was laid off. side of the family is located in various parts of the country where my employer isn't located, we decided to move back to Texas where my wife's family primarily lives. Our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (he's insulin dependent) a year ago at the age of 10. We need the support of family members and to be close by them so that he and his sister can spend time with their many cousins, aunts and uncles. Our daughter will be going off to college in 2 years and feels strongly that she is called to be a missionary to Russia. She's also very interested in archaeology, so she may pursue a double doctorate in the fields of ministry and dirt! :) Our son hasn't developed a love of learning just yet, so we're simply attempting to get him graduated from the 5th grade! We're sure that it will come, we just don't know when....
I'll post an update whenever things change, but that probably won't happen until we sell this house and move. We're looking forward to moving back to Texas (ok, not the actual MOVING part, but afterwards, when we're settled in). We have some painting to do, so if you want to help, come on over! :)
