Russell's Story

Life I cast about for a few years after high school, bored and directionless, always looking for some big adventure... got a trade degree in Sacramento, CA and spent most of the nineties working in radio news... I did quite a few things in those days... everything from being a welder and forklift operator to being a radio talk show host and disc jockey... in 2000 I wandered New Mexico way to help start a Hispanic newspaper. In 2002 I hopped on a plane to west Africa with $500 in my pocket to meet a pen pal that used to write to me from a refugee camp...well, if that wasn't intrepid enough I married that pen pal on the sp...Expand for more
ot- these days (2011) find us in San Diego, CA with our little boy and my wife's teenage daughter; but right now I'm deployed overseas "boots on ground" with the US Navy. Every decade has been a completely different direction than the last... guess I'm still looking for that next big adventure. School Hey! What am I doing here? I didn't graduate at Prescott High, at Maryvale, nor Alhambra, (I did get that GED in '89)... but most of my closest friends did... should anyone remember me drop me a line. I also went to PJHS (and also Granite Mountain... I moved around a lot then, and that habit really hasn't changed much).
