Ruth's Story
I can hardly wait to see old friends and catch up with each other. These past years have been full and exciting but never dull. We have three wonderful sons, three beautiful daughters-in-law, and a grandson and a granddaughter. We stayed busy with our church family here in Redlands.
We have been blessed to live in 14 cities throughout the US and to visit 10 other countries (Whew!) including the Australian outback for two years when Jack was in the Air Force. While in Australia, we raised our own kangaroo, Brighton, before turning him over to a wild animal park.
We have done a fair amount of traveling including spending a month in China with our son, Paul, and his wife, where they work and live. We were able to visit France and my second cousins in Switzerland while there. Our other travels ...Expand for more
have taken us to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, and Canada. We have finally found our new home town – Redlands – and settled here after Jack retired from the Air Force about 17 years ago.
We are also blessed to work with a Christian theater here in Redlands, the Life House Theater. We both have been in several plays as well as decorating the lobby, and sets, making our costumes, and other behind the scenes activities. I also played the lead in Oklahoma while we lived in Woomera, Australia. Now that was a very different experience. The cast was from 4 countries and no one believed I really had an Aunt Ella living in Oklahoma, just like in the play! Interesting for such a play too.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our reunion. Who could believe it has been 50 years!
