School: Since my father was a pastor, I lived in many different towns in Texas during my school years. I started Kindergarten in Sheridan, Texas and was there through 4th grade. For 5th grade we were in Blessing, Texas. Then for 6th and part of 7th grade we were in Hamilton, Texas and I finished 7th grade in Evant, Texas. By 8th grade, we moved to Tilden, Texas and I was able to complete my high school education there. I went to Bee County Community College (I understand it has a different name now) and then moved to Richmond, Virginia in October of 1979. I¿ve been in Virginia ever since. Hey, they have trees that are taller than me! Work: I started working with McGuire Clinic in Richmond as a CRT operator ¿ basically putting in information in the computer system from the emergency room. I also started helping in the Medical Billing office. In 1980, I started working for Danoks Enterprises. Hey, I used the A that I got in Accounting with Mrs. Wyatt as a shoe-in for the Accounting Clerk position! Over the years with them, I progressed to being a Full-Charge Bookkeeper. I felt I had hit the ceiling there and went to work with the Psychiatric Institute of Richmond (PIR) in the Accounting Department.
