Ruth's Story
Life
After high school, I attended Point Loma College. I didn't graduate, but I DID learn to have too much fun, party down and live to regret a lot. But we live and learn. So I graduated from a Dental Assisting School and ended up pushing donuts before I got enough courage to actually be a dental assistant! More stupidity! Meanwhile, I also changed religions. From Nazarene to LDS (Mormon). Though it took me awhile,I've finally settled down. I think I was trying to make up for lost time! Anyway, I'm happily married and we have seven children. My husband is self-employed (Kitchen Industry), and I'm an at-home (and homeschooling) mom,(5 girls and 2 boys, ages 9-20).I'm quite active with church and so I have learned to become a lot more than I ever dreamed I could be. I'm pretty satisfied with my life so far, but there's still so much more left to do and to become.

In case you haven't delved into my photo album, we've moved to Spanish Fork, Utah. I no longer home-school, but am a private school teacher. If you google Ruth Willardson Spanish Fork, you can go to the Daily Herald and there's a photo of some of my students! My hubby, Rod is no longer self-employed. He works for a granite company. It's a bit hard to work for someone else after having had a successful business for 26 years. But we moved here primarily for our kids. Life is definitely busier here than it was living out in the country, but we're enjoying it despite our home-sickness for California.

Sorry, I don't have crazy and funny stuff to share. Life just wasn't like that for me then. Happiest time was going to see Elvis with Mitzi Mandel in Tahoe. We were eight seats from the stage. Funny...going through hard financial times early in our marriage, I so...Expand for more
ld ALL my Elvis collection--including autographs--for pennies on the dollar. Some things that really mattered in high school just don't carry any weight as I grow older (and older!) Ok, my two biggest crushes were first--Fred Loehr and longest--Ray Alfafara. Umm, like nobody knew that. Gee, THAT was embarrassing! Nothing like bearing my soul to EVERYONE.
Having the worst attitude and being the ugliest person at PHHS, no wonder I never dated in high school! Let's see, would I really want to experience my teenage years over again in the same way? There's so much I'd change, no one would recognize me.
Mr. Parent has to be the most influential faculty member for me. If it hadn't been for him, I would have remained at home--which wasn't a good thing. He put in a good word for me at Point Loma College, so I went to San Diego, and finally began to be more social. He said I was "just a late-bloomer." He gave me a lot of courage, and he helped me to begin to overcome my myriad of problems coming from a VERY dysfunctional family. Thanks, Mr. Parent!
01/21/2015 Update: At long last, we are finally empty nesters. Reanna is currently in her sophomore year at USU in Logan, UT. We still run a home-based business, ePersonalizeit.com, and I am employed as an Interconnection Processor at Vivint.Solar in Orem. I love my job, and I love my team! Great working environment, great people to work with, lots of swag, and great benefits! Rodney and I are up to 5 grandkids now, with one more on the way in April. We enjoy camping, bike riding, and sailing on Utah Lake. We are the Valiant team teachers in Primary at our church, and we just love it! Not much snow this year has me looking forward to Spring when I can delve into my favorite hobby--gardening!
