Ruth's Story

So, as we all did, I graduated, got my degree, got married 19.5 years ago on VALENTINES DAY! so he would have an easy anniversary to remember. it worked. we got pregnant a week later and started our family with a daughter who is now 18, then a son, now 15, another son, 12 and finally, a mini me daugher, now 10. And that makes six of us total. Since our 3rd child was born, I stayed at home raising our children. That was my biggest contibution to this world. I felt it was up to me to educate my children to grow up being able to contribute to society and not to take from society. That was a feat in and of itself. Now that they are getting to their teens i can see, I did a good job so far, but I still hold my breath till they are 25 ish. Then, the proof is in the pudding. A few years ago, I Co-Produced a movie: Millionaire: Awaken your secret. Got published in: Inspiration to Realization, available on Amazon. Owned 2 homes in Irvine, 3 timeshares we finally learned to use and not loose. Opened my own office, named: The Massage Whisperer. Not what I had even thought of in high school, but it is a gift and miricals have happened. We have fostered over 50 kittens/cats and have gotten them adopted out to good families. My husband and I volunteer with the Irvine Police Department in Emergency communications: we both are licensed Ham Radio Operators and work with: IDEC: Irvine Disater Emergency Communications. that is a blast working along side our police officers. We love to vacation by camping in the colorado rockies at 14000 feet, in a tent. then go to vegas for a week to get back to reality. love to drive for road trips. My oldest just graduated from HS and was scouted by OCC for her varsity cross country and track abilities. she wants to compete in the olympics in 2012. My worst day in my life was last nov 15th, 2007 when my 10 year old had surgery to remove a osteoid ostema tumor from her tibia. While in ICU, the Irvine Police call just 4 hours later after surgery, asking for permission to take my 17 year old daughter to emergency because she had just gotten run over by a car. She was running with her cross country team, 3 days before finals and 9 days before state finals, and the day before her 18th birthday. God re...Expand for more
ally shook my world that day. Both daughters are recovering nicely now, my oldest ended up miraculously healing just enough to compete at state and her team took 13th place at state. not too shabby for getting run over 9 days earlier. she did take the next month to heal properly. My best days are here: my oldest got scouted to go to OCC for her athletic abilites. she is loving college and all the doors that are opening up for her, and she has completely pd for her schooling 100% since a freshman in HS. She makes me proud, because most teens are looking for a hand out, and she is giving a hand to others while taking care of herself. While I am now working in my own office, my 15 year old son is manning up and caring for our home, and watching out for his brother and sister. I must say, he is also making me proud. I do not do housework anymore, or dishes. Occasionally I do laundry for my office for the linnens from massage. We are a home that loves pets: now we are down to 6 cats. 3 are up for adoption. we domesticate cats or kittens and get them fixed, potty trained, and their shots. Then, we find a family to adopt them and everyone is happy. My husband has been working at Huntington Beach Boeing now for 30 years. That is job stability. He is a great husband and an amazing father. I love the insight he has and provides us in times of want and need. He makes me happy and keeps a smile in my heart, my eyes, and my face. I think I picked a good one. I can appreciate the education my parents pd for me to attend a private high school. I have hopefully instilled similar values in my children of independance and respect. It was worth it, and I believe my parents see that it pd off for them to give me that education. My husband has become a General Hospital junky with me. Since he was at home from rotator cuff surgery for 5 months, he got addicted to GH just like me. He even remembers Luke and Laura from our HS years. I even remember watching the wedding, after running home to be at home tosee it on time. back, then, i did not have the ability to RECORD!!!!! I am counting my blessings, and all the ones still yet to come. Hope you write something so i can read your story too. Blessings, Ruth Fiala Sanchez SJHS 82'
