R. Annie's Story
I grew up in a very abusive home. My dad was an alcoholic and my mom never wanted us kids. It was a sad time for me, but it didn't define me. To survive, I quit school after I finished the 10th grade and married an upper classman just to get away from my parents. I felt bad for using him, but my life depended upon it. We moved to Oregon where I lived for 4 months. After finding out that I was pregnant I decide to move back to Bakersfield and raise my son. oved back up to Oregon where we lived for 18 years. Now I live in Colorado with my wonderful husband, Dave.
I wanted to stay in school, but living in such a horrible home, where I wasn't wanted and we were beaten weekly, just made it impossible to stay. I was bullied terribly by a couple of mean girls. If they only knew what I had gone through. I finally went back to school and got my G.E.D. and then went to college to become a paralegal. I loved living in Oregon and we hope to retire there soon.
I have two beautiful grandsons and I love my life and enjoy it to the fullest.
