Life
Living in Louisville. Never thought I'd like it here after Europe, but really do. Was working in the performing arts management for 10 years, now working for an international non-profit. I meet interesting people from all over the world every day & travel a bit. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 20 years now and have a wonderful son, Max, that just arrived 8/07. We have had the opportunity to go to back to Europe several times on vacations in France, Italy, Germany, etc.. When I went back to Spain for the Expo in Seville I got to go to Madrid, but only spent a few days there. TJ was closed by then : ( Things looked so different and had changed. It was a different place. It made me a bit sad...
Looking for other DORMIES that attended Torrejon HS 1983-86. We were like a big disfunctional family : ) Ha ha! Remember Ms. Strong, Mr. Peters, Mr.& Mrs. Bloom. Wasn't there a Mr. Segal too? Ms. Strong always said, "Maaaark Laaaaaarrrrrson" with that funny East coast accent : ) Do you all remember when Enrique ate part of a shower curtain? What was that all about? on a huge clothesline with banners, "JIM'S", "TRAY'S", "STEVE'S", etc, so everyone could see them while eating at the Chow Hall across from the dorm! That was sooooooo funny! Boy, they were VERY PISSED about that one! Do you all remember that incredible mud fight that we had one year where everyone was forced to join in? I remember Jim Thorton pacing down the halls trying to get Mielen to come out of her room. I think she was the only one that didn't join in the fun. We all were running and slidding around out front. What a MESS! I still remember my 2 dorm room numbers.. 3B14 and 3B9... Ha ha! : ) Looking for my peeps from "The Rock" - La Maddalena, Sardinia .... Sheila Kane, Michelle Wells and Joe Granados. Lost track of them and so many others. (UPDATE: Found Sheila & Michelle!)
Part of 86 and all of 87 I went to Waggener HS in Louisville. I really didn't like it since most people weren't very welcoming. I don't know if most people thought I was stuck-up or just a weirdo. Most of my friends were exchange students since I had more in common w/ them. I was a foreigner in my own country since I had been away for 5 yrs. I liked The Cure, The Smiths, The Cult, Depeche Mode, wearing black, hated sports (soccer ok). Haha....
