Ruth's Story
After Graduation I spent some time in the Mt. Shasta area. Working in the Weed Convalesant Hospital, first as house- keeper and after training as a Nursing Assistant. After a few years I migrated to the Bay Area where some relatives took me in until I landed a job working at John Muir Memorial Hospital in Walnut Creek. I lived on my own until my marriage in 1972 to Joe Gibson. We moved to the Mohave Desert in the mid-seventies for Hot Spring Therapy for his arthritis. I have re-married in 2006 to Joe Vuncannon (not two cannons, just vun).

north of Palm Springs up Hwy 62 in the hi-desert and 20 miles west of 29 Palms where home is to the U.S.MARINES who are trained for deployment to Iraq and Afhganistan.
Organizations I'm involved in are: JT Clean Team who goes out on the highways and main roads and clean up debris to help beautify the area 2 to 3 times a month. The Community Blood Bank where I have given over 10 gallons of blood to help others have the gift of life. Through our church we women put togeather care packages for the Marines and local people who need care.
