Ruth Hogue Sheldon Mounts:  

Life I attended 1st and 2nd grades in Solvang, California, where my father taught the 4th grade. We moved to Moorpark, Ca., and I attended 3rd through 7th grades at Moorpark Elementary. My father taught 4th & 5th grades. Cedarlane Jr. High is where I attended the 8th grade after we moved to Hacienda Heights, Ca. Most of my recollections of high school come from 4 years of Varsity Band, in which I played the clarinet After graduation from Los Altos High School in '66, I attended Western Baptist Bible College in the S.F.Bay area,where I had the privilege of traveling with the acappella choir, concert band, and ladies'trio.The college has since moved to Oregon, and has been renamed Corban University. I met my husband in my second year of college, and we were married in 1968. He passed away May 3, 2001. We shared 33 years of our lives together. God has blessed us with nine wonderful children (eight of whom are married), and 14 lovely grandchildren (Ages 6 mo. to 24 yrs.) Our oldest son, David,a former Marine,is 47 and lives with his wife, Jennifer, and five young daughters in Eastern MN. Abby, 21, Emily, 18, Isabelle 16, Olivia, 14, Alyssa, 8. Aaron, 46, lives about 20 miles north of us with his wife, Dale, and 3 sons. Paul is 24, & Jacob, 22. They were surprised with another baby boy, James T., in September of '08. Leah, 43, has 2 daughters from a previous marriage. Julia, 22 & Hannah 20. Leah & Jody Werner were married in May of 2010. Jody has a daughter from a previous marriage. Jessica is 22, and loves her new family. My son John, 35, is a talented pianist,and bass guitarist. He lives in KY, TN, & CA, following the music gigs.
