Ryan's Story

Life I got back from serving as an LDS missionary in Fortaleza, Brazil (Ouviram do Ipirangas...) in August of 1999. I graduated from BYU in 2002 with a BS in physics (imagine that). I then went to CU-Boulder for graduate studies in physics. I spent 4 years there, 1 and 1/2 of which I worked for a ultrafast laser research group. Unfortunately I got on the wrong side of my professors/advisors who fired ...Expand for more
me from the research group at the end of 2004 and tried to run me out of graduate school (long story - I can tell you if you really want to know). It sort of worked - unable to find a new research group (I have a sneaking suspicion I was blacklisted) I decided to leave CU after winter of 2006. But all hope is not lost! I'll be beginning a PhD program in Electrical Engineering at BYU in Fall of 2006.
