Hey everyone! Sorry that I missed the reunion. I recently returned to Summit county to work for a couple of months. For the last year, I lived in WA. state going to school and working as a finish carpenter. I lived in Alaska for four years prior to that. The first year in AK, I worked as a dock(ramp) manager for a small floatplane air taxi company. The other three years I worked as a Guide for a remote fly-in lodge. Hard to believe I get paid to take people flyfishing for salmon, as well as bearviewing, natural history tours, rafting, and hiking in the bush of Alaska! I spent one winter as a caretaker for the lodge as well. REDRUM! REDRUM! Actually, it was 7 months of heaven. Lately, I have developed a traveling addiction. Two years ago, I spent 6 months in S.E. Asia, visiting Thailand for 3 months and one month in each of Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. I hope to return to Laos to visit my adopted family there. Last winte...Expand for more
r, I graduated from the Northwest School of Wooden boatbuilding in Port Townsend, WA and now looking to use my newly acquired skills to work my way around the world. I'll probably start off in Thailand(as a vacation), going to India as a side trip to visit some friends, then island hop down thru Malaysia, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Micronesia etc. to get to New Zealand and Australia. NZ and Oz is where I will work in several wooden boat shops building and restoring wooden sailboats. Other places I hope to visit along my 'round world working tour are S. Africa, Togo and Ghana of which I will be volunteering on Organic farms in exchange for room and board. Then it'll be off to Europe to find work once again, as well as visit some old friends.
