Life
Married in '68, divorced in '82. Had a long-time "live-in" situation and he passed away Sep 08. Raised a daughter (Carol-Ann) and son (Mike) now retired from US Army Recruiting Bn HQ in Raleigh, Incentive Awards Analyst (big title with lots of "extra" work).Retired effect 30 Nov 2010 and now pursuing my hobby of singing and playing karaoke full-time. My daughter Carol and her husband Robbie gave me my 1st grandson - Tanner is now 21 and just completed his Soph year. at Johnston Community College. Have 3 more grandsons by my son - William and Nicholas and Kaleb . Hardly a dull moment, or for that matter a spare moment, with four little boys calling "Grandma" all the time! Added a little grandaughter to the picture in Dec 06 - my daughter Carol-Ann and her husband Robbie are the happy parents. --- spend most of my "free time" either playing karaoke (private parties, fill-in's, etc) or singing every weeken...Expand for more
d!! I love to sing, but also love to see others having a good time --- have over 72,000 karaoke songs in my collection.
Workplace
Worked Civil Service with US Army Recruiting since 1985 until Nov 2010 - first job out of high school was with Rose's 5&10, then General Electric Credit Corp, moved to Georgia and worked as asst office manager with a credit bureau in middle-Georgia. When I moved back to NC didn't work again until 1982 - managed convenice stores for several years prior to going with the federal government. Hate sitting behind a desk all day long, much better physically when I worked in the retail market. No time to exercise anymore like I used to - but I've managed to get out and walk some since the weather is nicer and I need that since I've lost over 50 lbs the past year. Close to retiring now, don't know if I can afford to, but considering what I spend in gas per month I should still, in a manner of speaking, have the same amount of income or more since I won't have to drive 40 miles one way every day to work and back.
