College I also attended the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley to obtain my B.A. in Science Education. I hold two Master's Degrees from Arkansas State University, State University, Arkansas, one in Biological Science and one in Secondary Counseling. I was a HS Biology teacher for 10 years and a HS Counselor for 18 years so all of my years in education paid off in my career. After 29 years of teaching in AR, I retired. I decided I'd like to leave the profession before I became cynical and grouchy, like so many people do near the end of their teaching careers. By doing that, I was able to spend more time with my mother and her husband in the last years of their lives. That is time that I truly treasure now that they are gone. Both of them were in various stages of ill health, both had their own attitudes toward life. I am glad I was available to share their joys and woes at the end. Now another page has turned, my daughter has recently married and is very happy. She is a magazine publisher in MS and is learning the ropes of being a small business owner.
