Sallysue's Story
I have lived and taught school in the Las Vegas area for 23 years. I have been a classroom teacher and a math/literacy coach - site based and at the district level. I am also a consultant for Math Perspectives and provide professional development for teachers around the country.
My oldest daughter, Alicyn, graduated from high school last spring and is attending Boise State. Go Broncos!! She is a communications/political science major. I miss her tons.
So does her little sister, Evelyn. Evelyn will be 5 soon. She is one of the most joyous kids I've been around. She makes me laugh all the time.
My husband, Ryan, is an ironworker most of the time. We have also been working on our promotional business. Bad timing economy wise but low overhead.
Life is good!
Obsessed with Miami Dolphins football - why exactly did I have to hide that though high school? I am a rejuvinated Boise State Bronco fan. They never played that way when I was in the stands cheering. Now that my daughter is there - it is so exciting. Another Fiesta Bowl! Gotta be there.

or football, House and American Idol.
My biggest surprise is that I was willing to have a second baby at 40. Not a day goes by that I am thankful for that decision. Evelyn is just pure joy!!!
If I could improve my home, I'd add an enclosed back patio, and get a gardner to make the yard look like I want it to look
I had so many great teachers. Mr. Ohlund was one of my favorites. Mr. Bailey from 5th grade - awesome. Mr. Peebles. Lit teacher can't remember his name - but he had a hot dog stand on the beach in the summer time. Mr. Moore was such a nice guy
I'd start a Charter School where we can leave out all the nonsense that has been brought on by No Child Left Behind.
Truly happy - somehow make a difference in the lives of kids - beyond what a classroom teacher can do. Blindside inspired me!
One do-over, when my mom was dying, I should have stayed with her no matter how long. Instead, duty to school took over and I went back to Vegas for a week - teaching. Then only had 2 days left when I got back home with mom. Precious days lost and the people I went back for probably don't remember.
