Salvatore's Story
Life
I am really the class of 1983, but I became a 'social senior' (not hard) and I graduated in 1982. Also, I moved to West Babylon from West Islip in 1979 at the end of Junior High School there. At West Babylon High School, I ran Track & Field and Cross Country. After high school graduation, I went to U.S.M.C. bootcamp (ooh-rah). I signed up for the reserves, so I was able to go to S.U.N.Y. Farmingdale and S.U.N.Y. Westbury. This was so long ago, Farmingdale was still a 2 year college! I became a NYPD cop when I was 22. I got married when I was 24. nty Police Dept. when I was 26. I had a daughter, Jessica, right after I graduated that police academy. I also had a son Sal (I like the name!) and bought my first house in South Merrick when I was 29. Unfortunately, I divorced in 2002 and I bought a house in Seaford. Luckily, both of my kids live with me. I was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and I am in charge of a very cool unit. My daughter just graduated from my alma mater, SUNY Farmingdale at 22 (I am getting old) and my son just joined the Navy (active) for 4 years at 19. That is everything!
