Sam's Story

School Highschool for me was one big party...any time and any where. When I left Rogers the year before graduation (1980), I ended up getting my high school diploma from Washington State University as part of a plan then President Regan offered for anyone who could meet the testing criteria. After all that partying, I ended up with a diploma from a university. Go figure... (the program was soon cancelled when voters beleive it an unfair recognition for people who were not mainstreamed. I stuck around WSU for about six additional months and took a few classed oriented toward retail businesses. When I turned 19, I went into the United States Army. Check "Military" above for my continued growth. College I actually graduated Summa Caume Laude from Gonzaga University in 1996, where I received my Bacherlor of Business Administration with a Finance Major. However, that is not what happend after I got out of the military. Read on... When I was honorably discharged from the Army in 1985, I had three remaining years of inactive obligations. Not being too enthused by the prospect of having to return to service, I used some of my Military Benefits to try and go to Spokane Community College, but after just a few short months, I partied out, and quit. I started an entrepreneurial career in everything from real estate to auctions and everything in between. For the most part I did well, but always found myself returning to the party. mercial property investment and development company with a friend I met at Gonzaga. Being that it is real estate, we continue to do well. But that's where I'm at now. After trying to go to college and failing at age 22 and being an entrepreneur, I worked consulting for some time and then moved to Dallas Texas. I lived there from 1986 to 1989 until I realized I was just making more money to party more and more. So I moved back to Spokane, quit partying all together and went back to School. Where, in just three and a half years, I changed my life and graduated from Gonzaga. Military I entered the US Army in March of 1982 as a Military Police Officer, which actually surprised most of my friends and family. I took my basic training in Anniston Alabama, and my first permanent assignment was Fort Bliss Texas and to the 978th MP Company. The work was challenging and rewarding as this particular company was also a rapid deployment force with specialty needs such as a Special Reaction Team (like S.W.A.T.) and the expectation to mobilize and go anywhere in the world within 48 hours while simultaneously performing the Garrison (police) work. All and all I did well, was promoted, and well respected for my dedication. In 1983 and a half, I received orders for Europe and was retrained to be a Customs Agent. Customs was great work and highly sought after by transferring MPs. I traveled all over, from Austria to the Fulda Gap and enjoyed being part of one of the oldest civilized cultures. The architicture and beauty has always been with me. For more see "College" above.
