Sam Hendler:

CLASS OF 1963

Sam's Story

Not much to write, after getting out of school I worked part time at Stewart's whiile going to college at night. Hated college as much as school so I got a full time job at the Hecht Company as a dept. manager. I must of had something to offer as within a year I was made a assistance buyer. Within another year I was moved up to buyer. Stayed with the Hecht Company for about 5 years and moved to Cleveland to work for the Higbee Company. I was only there for 18 months as the travel was just too much. I was in Europe 4 months a year plus the time that I was away on buying trips in the states. After that I took a job as a sales rep for Md, Del, DC and eastern PA. Did that for 9 years and left that to open a video store in 1982. Within a year we had 18 stores in Md, Del and PA, we received ...Expand for more
an offer to sell out which we did and I have been retried since then. When we came back from Cleveland we moved to Delaware. In 1975 we moved to Pa. and in 1980 we moved back to Delaware. In 1985 we moved to Florida and have been here ever since. My only job since then is to take care of my dogs. July 2020 There isn't anything to add since my last update over 10 years ago. My job is to take care of my dogs, Popsicle and Pepsi. Sorry to say the the same ones from the last update but all dogs are great. My dogs are fulled with television and time on the computer and walking the dogs. Until the virus we would go out and eat lunch or dinner just about everyday. For now we're waiting until it's safe to go out to eat. Hope that everyone is doing will during this crazy time in our history.
